Hoogstraton Box

£3,000.00

This box is painted with distorted perspective on three internal walls and ceiling and floor. The fourth wall is Perspex to allow the light in. There are two peep holes in the short sides enabling you to peep in and see an interior of a house in what appears to be a room full of 3D furniture and views out through doors and a bay window.

The original inspiration was from Samuel van Hoogstraton’s 1650’s interior of a Dutch house peep show box in the National Gallery, London.
